Once…

One morning, warm but rainy,
Through a haze of dreams, he suddenly rode up to me,
Knocking on the pavement leisurely---
A handsome prince on a fairy horse.

And it is impossible not to admire him,
He was beautiful, smart and cheerful, like a dream...
So, he wanted me to surrender to him all!
Of course, he could captivate anyone.

His smile, gaze, eyes, and shoulders...
Also, the whole kingdom, in addition,
Oh, my God, what he spoke!
What a stroke of luck!

He promised to make me happier,
Following me calmly...
He called me to dine somewhere,
And offered me to become his wife.

How to give up such a chance?
Who does not dream of being a queen?
Who did not dream to dance with the prince?
Who did not dream to forget about problems?

And, putting me on a horse nearby,
Drove to a country where the sun warms the light.
We admired the wonderful, clean garden.
We met golden dawn there.

We ate grapes and sang songs,
Walked in the rain and slept under the moon.
And in the whole world, there is no more wonderful place,
Where the good prince walked with me then.

And it was impossible not to fall in love---
He was smart and angelically handsome.
Such a life in a dream one could only dream,
And cannot forget it, at least once tasted.

And this feeling is very familiar to me,
Yes, only somewhere, deep in my soul,
I remembered that there, in a forgotten house,
Everything was waiting for me, with my dear---in a hut.

And where he bears me now, and why I am not there,
And with whom I am now---he does not know at all.
When I return, he won’t ask about anything.
He is too much in love with me.

He himself would have wished me such a paradise,
But I would rather be sweeter in his simple hut.
He will not leave me even while dying...
So, can I really ignore him?

No, I’m not ready to be a queen...
And I don’t need a precious wedding ring...
Yes, the prince is good... But I love another!
And quietly, that night I left the palace.

And, having dipped my pen in gold paint,
Having gathered again all my strength,
I will tell the only tale---foolish but heavenly,
In which the good prince did not win.
